Story Cubes


We made a cube. We had to number each face. We wrote six parts of the story Chicken Little.

Napier Museum

We went to the museum in Nap.We learnt about the 1931 Earthquake. We went for a walk around Napier looking at the art deco designs. We saw sunbursts, ziggurats and zig zags. We drew some art deco designs when we got back to school.

Room 16's Fabulous Learning

Thinking Maps
Thinking Maps help us to think of good ideas for our writing.







Descriptive Writing
We have written lots of descriptive stories. We have written about Our Pets, Our Friends and Our Favourite Hiding Places. Out learning intention is to build up a picture in the readers mind.










Learning Buddies
We have learning buddies. We are paired off with someone else in our class. At news time we share our news with our learning buddies. We learn with our learning buddies at other times to.










Games
We have lots of board games to play with on wet days.

Wow! More Special Learning in Room 16




Our Special Places

We are learning how to create different patterns. We had to make our own patterns up using waves, circles and lines.







Our Roof tops

We were learning to make straight lines with a ruler. We drew a picture using a ruler and a pencil. We had to fold the piece of paper into a square and then we had to draw the roof tops in the four squares.









Our Friends

We wrote about our friends. We had to write what they looked like, what they liked to do and what we liked to do with them.









Our Goals

We had to write some goals to help us improve our learning. For example my goal is to make new friends in Room 16. I can achieve this by asking if they want to play with me.
